Talo's disagreeable features darkened. There was no way she could be...not be a male! All those years...Her mother told her she was a male all those years. She had to be one! What the green was feeling was in her must have been off. If she was so empathetic, what ever that meant, why couldn't her dragon sense her true sex? Her dragon was obviously mistaken.
R'li's amusement made Talo more self-conscious and she almost glowered at the taller woman. How could she find this funny? Talo was aware that those playing a "bothered" role, were looked illy upon and could probably be punished. Was R'li going to tell?
"What do you want?"

The greenrider's eyes were twinkling with amusement, but she made no comment, content to watch the girl squirm in her discomfort. R'li took a few more moments to thoroughly enjoy the Tairik's resentment of her knowledge before shrugging once more. It wouldn't do well to turn this perfectly fine specimin of Candidicy against dragonriders, no not at all. The girl's question escaped her dark face and R'li's eyebrows soared high on her forehead.
"What do I want, dear child? Nothing, except your silent consent to become a Candidate of Ista Weyr," The greenrider responded smoothly, withdrawing her hands from her pockets and straightening her tunic. "Or you can be loud and obnoxious and still agree to Stand. You're choice, Tairik."

The woman lingered on her words, forcing Talo to wait on her explanation. Did she take pleasure in watching Talo squirm? Probably, had she not, she would have gotten straight to the point. But she did, quicker than Talo had expected. Almost immediately her expression grew surprised.
R'li only wanted her to stand? Well, being a candidate took no work, right? All she had to do was wait until a blasted dragon hatched? If she refused, would that spell doom for her future within the weyr? Would she be labeled as a liar once R'li told of her secret?
Talo chuckled,
"You're horrible at your job, Green Dragon Rider." She took a slight bow toward the woman, "If I might be so bold in saying. But if all you want is to make a candidate out of me, then you win."
