Helka stared off into the raging sea, whipped up by the storm that was going. No storm would prevent her from doing her run in the morning. She could feel the water pooring down her skin and she remembered what her mother had once said, that she was crazy with her running along beaches thing, especially when it was storming, but Helka loved the rain and the look of the beach during a storm even though it was storming. Sadly, she turned around and started back toward the weyr. The sky was starting to brighten with the risen sun and the storm starting to abate and as a candidate she had work to do soon.

Uureian was used to rain, it rained quite a lot at Fort Hold, where he’d lived for the past four turns since his family settled down there. He was fairly sure it had rained quite a lot everywhere else, certainly a few of his memories of travelling Pern as a youngster included rain. However the storms that blew up at Ista island were really rather spectacular at times, and not like anything he’d seen before. This morning’s storm had been pretty good by his standards, lots of wind, sheet lightning, and, naturally, rain. Exhilarating!
It was just a shame that it was slackening off now as the sun made an effort to rise, though Uureian supposed storms wouldn’t be good all the time, everything would get muddy. Uureian stood up and wandered back toward the weyr, having a bit of a hard time moving in his soaked clothes. It was probably a good thing he didn’t catch colds easily. There was someone else on the beach, a girl running along with a good stride, a messenger’s run rather than a fussy girl’s. Uureian waited until she was nearer to him before waving and calling out. ‘Hello, nice morning isn’t it? D’ you like storms too?’

Helka was amazed to see someone else out in the storm. Hearing him call out she said, she slowed down as she got near until she came to a stop. Smiling she said, "Yes, quite a nice morning. The beach is beautiful when it storms." With a slight laugh she added,"My name is Helka. What is your name." She was happy and cheerful this morning because of her run and the storm. OOC: Sorry for taking so long, I forgot to check back here...
