Zephan was idly wandering the beaches, enjoying what he was sure were his last few days of freedom. Now that Lyeth had Flown it wouldn’t be long before eggs appeared on the sands and then candidate lessons would really start taking up time. He should definitely make the most of these last few days of relative freedom. This afternoon was one of the easy ones to make the most of the sun was warm, with enough of a breeze to keep a person from sweltering. The sand wasn’t scorching and he knew the water would be warm if he cared to swim later.
A blue streak bobbing toward him indicated that Zephan’s firelizard was returning to his bonded for a moment. Stardust was cheerfully clutching something in his front talons that he very clearly wanted Zeph to see from the way he was chirping about it. In his haste the blue forgot to slow down at all and went crashing headlong into Zephan’s chest. However Zephan was used to his clumsy firelizard and simply stuck his arm under the blue before he could fall. Stardust sorted himself out so he was balanced on Zeph’s arm and dropped his burden into the open hand with a triumphant chirp. Zephan closed his fingers on the orange pebble and Stardust took off to find something else. Once the flit was out of sight Zephan discreetly dropped the pebble, if he kept everything Stardust brought him he wouldn’t be able to move.
