Name: Tehnel (Ta-nell)
Gender: female
Age: 17
Season: Summer
Sexuality: Hetero
Rank: candidate, Journeyman Beastcrafter
Hair: black
Eyes: black
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 180 lbs
Description: Tehnel is a raven haired beauty. Her frame is perfectly proportioned all the way from her lovely face down to her symmetrical feet. She is a buxom lass, sporting a large bosom a narrow waist, and an attractive set of hips atop long shapely legs. She also tends to accentuate this by wearing fitted clothing … or sometimes not much in the way of clothing. While always properly covered, it is not unknown to see her in slitted skirts or with a bare midriff.
Her eyes are expressive and completely black, making them seem larger than they actually are. Her face is framed by slightly wavy, midnight black hair that falls to her hips. She has a lot of hair … it is by no means thin. And below her shoulders it goes from slightly wavy to more or less straight. Most of the wavyness of her hair is artificial, as it comes from being tucked behind her ears, or being done up in a do. How she wears her hair is totally random, however.
Tehnel is not a paperweight, however. She is stronger than she looks. She can wield a spade with the best of the lads, and can usually outride all of them… while bareback.
History: Tehnel grew up in a cothold on the other side of Ista Hold from the weyr, out in the wide open countryside. Her parents were both big into breeding and raising runners for the communities around them, and she learned at an early age how to ride the wildest of the bunch with skill. By the time she was ten, she was all but apprenticed to her father, working right along side her older brothers and sisters with the beasts that they all loved dearly. They trained them to ride, to race, to pull, to plow, to log … what ever anyone needed them to do. Their little cothold was known for quite a ways for the variety of runners that they were breeding … tall swift runners as well as the shorter, chunkier, stronger animals. And a few that were a nice in between animal.
When she was sixteen, she went with her brothers and her father, leading several strings of animals to Ista Hold for delivery. They stayed the night there, preparing for the long ride home again with heavy purses. But in the morning, a Search rider arrived, speaking of a clutch that needed candidates. The Lord Holder insisted that all young people of the age would be presented… this included Tehnel and two of her brothers, despite the protests of their father, who was cursing their luck for not heading out earlier in the morning. His children were all dear to him, as well as highly capable assistants. It would hurt him both in his heart and in his business to lose any of them.
As fate would have it, Tehnel was selected along with two other youngsters from the Hold proper. The parting from her family was a tearful one, but her father did not forbid her from going. Instead, he gave her a few marks from their earnings, and wished her luck. If she became a rider, it would bring prestige to their family. And if she did not? Well, she was always welcome back home again, in the family business.
When her father returned to the cothold, he sent her pet cat to the weyr, to be with her, as the poor creature was going completely furbrained from her being missing.
Personality: Tehnel can be a straight-forward, no-nonsense gal. There is work to be done … help her get it done, or get out of her way. But she is not totally incapable of letting her hair down. When the day's work is over, and there is time for relaxing, she can really put the steam on. Changing from soiled clothes to clean ones of brighter colors and a flower in her hair, she is just as likely to start dancing as she is to just sit and talk to someone. She knows she is pretty, and will play that to her best advantage … whether that is in getting a lad's attention, or in getting said lad to do something for her. Though she knows better than to ask too much of anyone.
A fairly open girl, she will talk to almost anyone, and really loves to be out doors … especially if there are runners around. One of her favorite hobbies is to take a runner for a hair-brained gallop across a field … or even better … through a forest.
Tehnel is a very self-confident lass, and can sometimes be slightly aggressive in how she pursues things. Some people sometimes see her as arrogant, but she really does try to not tick people off. She is something of a free and wild child, mixed oddly with the steadfast hard worker.
She fears eventually being roped down and stuffed into a pre-molded box type position. She longs to always be herself, and nothing more, nothing less.
Pets: a very loyal large dark grey on dark grey male tabby feline known as Spirit. He vanishes all too easily in low light or twilight situations. And he tends to follow her everywhere … would put some canines to shame. He is eight Turns old. It is not completely unusual to see the feline sitting on the rump of a runner that his pet is messing with.
