Adding in some detail about how honorifics work.
Riders of fighting dragons change their names when they Impress. The most common way to do so is to shorten the first syllable, hence Felessan becomes F'lessan.
A rider with a long name may drop more than one syllable, so he could also have beome F'san.
The tradition started because of the dragon's tendency to slur or rush their rider's name in emergencies. Queen riders do not shorten their names because the slightly higher intelligence and telepathic capability of their dragons makes them less likely to do so.
At this point, however, it is a tradition. There are, of course, some variances. In general, the dragon tells the rider his new name, but the dragon is getting that name from the rider's self-identity. In most cases, therefore, a rider's honorific or 'rider name' is what the young person decided or wanted when they thought about it.
In rare cases, a rider may totally change his or her name. This may be to honor a relative, or simply to avoid confusion. So, Simon may become P'ter, especially if the Weyr already holds a S'mon.
If you have a character that would do that, just put it in the candidate area of their sheet.
