Kimara had come from the Weyr, but she wasn't taking that much time off. No, she had tracked down the vintners selling at the Gather.
Now, she lounged against the front of their stall, sipping at a glass of something that was red and probably from Benden. "Not bad. But not quite up to, say, Hatching feast standards."
"Good enough for everyday, though."
"Almost too good. If you saw the amount riders drink. It's cheap wine and very good wine the Weyr tends to need, not so much in the middle. And, no offense, this is in the middle."
She swirled the cup. "On the other hand, I might get a bottle or two for myself."

Tarana and Tesin walked through the Gather together. R'nul and Writh had given both of them rides, and then the greenrider had gone off to linger around the dancing stall. Tarana, like Kimara, never stopped working, and she wanted to look into buying some new supplies for the Weyr while she was here.
"Can't you just relax for a little bit, mother?" Tesin asked. As he spoke, he reached up and plucked Breeze out of the air again, putting the Sapphire firmly back on his shoulder. Breeze kept trying to steal food from people around the Gather.
"I will after this," Tarana said half-heartedly. When they reached the wine stall, she grinned. "Kimara! Just the person I need to see. I need some help picking out wine for the Weyr's stores."
"And I'll take a recommendation for a glass myself," Tesin added.

Kimara considered. "Every day or special occasion. And red or white, Tesin?"
The stall did, indeed, have quite a wide selection of wines. "I also noticed the Weyr was a little low on fortified wines, we should order some of that, too."
She wondered if she had the money for something for herself, maybe a small piece of jewelry, but the Weyr's supply came first...there were, after all, several days of Gather to enjoy. "And ale, we definitely need more ale. I think we're okay on quixal, though, for now."
