I have to be honest here.
If I can post a firelizard Hatching and have it all but ignored...and the general vibe I have is that people are not that interested in this game. That is causing *me* to lose interest. So, I'm throwing it open.
1. I could keep Rebirth open, but people will need to post and to make suggestions for things they want to see happen. People would need to tell me *why* they haven't been very active if it's a reason other than real life and be honest about it.
2. I could close Rebirth and just focus on being a player for now. Maybe I make better support than in charge.
3. I could close Rebirth and instead open one of the two following games:
a. A game set in a late pass and based off of the premise that Kitti Ping died in the first Threadfall. The dragons were instead made by Wind Blossom and Ted Tubberman. The key result of this would be the lack of the gender imperative. Dragons would Impress regardless of gender and sexuality, queens would chew firestone and greens clutch, albeit not every flight, small clutches and a *lot* of duds. After the plague, women would slowly cease to be presented as dragon candidates, the fact that they ever were lost. Without the Weyrwomen to hold the flag, the women of Pern are chattels and broodmares. The plotline would take place during an Interval and focus on the establishment of a Weyr on the Southern Continent, interwoven with the struggle for women's rights on a very different Pern.
b. AIVAS screwed up to an unimaginable degree. The Red Star is on a collision course with Pern...but there is one last hope. A probe from the FSP detected the upcoming destruction and sent a team to survey the doomed planet (the colony having been believed to have failed). This team is able to provide a visualization that allows several flights of dragons to *between* to a different uninhabited planet...taking with them as much of the population of Pern as they can manage, including firelizards and whers.
Idea b. would definitely involve new colors. Idea a. might not, I don't know whether they're really needed.
Let's discuss this. Because really...I don't want to do an entire clutch of dragons for a dead game.
